BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF PAOLO SEMERARO
Paolo Semeraro was born in Bari, South Italy the 15th March 1962, where he lives and established his companies. Since 1980 when he wins his first FINN national titles ( other 7 will follow) up to now Paolo Semeraro sportive , school and business lives are mixing in a continuos exchange of experiences and know how. A common denominator is always present : trying to reach the best level beyond the boundaries of his home town. In the 80's while he studies and graduates with honors in Hydraulic Engineering , he wins many national titles in a large variety of olimpic and offshore classes , he represents ITALY in the '84 and '88 OLYMPIC GAMES and AMERICA'S CUP putting the basis for his sailmaking business.
He opens Banks Sails Italy, "the farbic od sails" in 1990.
In the early 2000s he creates the brand MEMBRANE to recognize a new generation of string sails he is designing . In the meantime , with the opening of EC , he acquires the rights on the Banks Sails brand that becomes "Banks Sails Europe" with the creation of a franchising network. 6 WC and many other international events are won from 2005 to 2014 in the offshore classes. In 2008 He is elected best Italian SAIL DESIGNER ( over 120 brands in Italy…….). In 2006 the MEMBRANE lamination plant is set up in Bari Italy: in a continuos updating and improving of the process, today the BARI plant is serving more tha 15 sail-lofts in Europe . MEMBRANE is the only technology able to laminate DYNEEMA in a STRING sail with a proven reliability." In december 2012 , to summarize and take benefit of years of project managing and consulting to the main Italian boatbuilders , Paolo creates the brand Neo Yachts & Composites (www.neoyachts.com ) for really performing Cruiser /Racers sailing yachts.

BREVE BIOGRAFIA DI PAOLO SEMERARO
Paolo Semeraro è nato a Bari il 15/03/1962 dove vive e ha localizzato le sue attività imprenditoriali. La vita di Paolo Semeraro è un continuo intreccio fra attività sportive, formative ed imprenditoriali in un continuo mutuo travaso di competenze ed esperienze, ma sempre con un comune denominatore: l'aspirazione a raggiungere i massimi livelli oltrepassando i confini della città natale. E così negli anni 80' mentre studia e si laurea con LODE in ingegneria, vince una infinità di titoli nazionali ed internazionali di vela in ben 10 diverse categorie, partecipa a due OLIMPIADI e alla COPPA AMERICA e getta le basi per la sua fabbrica di VELE: la BANKS SAILS che apre a Bari nel 1990. Nel 1986 è eletto miglior velista Italiano e terzo nel mondo da una giuria di giornalisti internazionali. Negli anni 90' le sue vele, spesso con lui al timone delle barche invelate, vincono molte regate e partecipando alla Admiral's Cup e vincono il mondiale Maxi ICAYA. Negli anni 2000 crea il marchio MEMBRANE a contraddistinguere le vele di nuova generazione da lui disegnate che vincono regate prestigiose nei MAXI. Contestualmente acquisisce i diritti nel mercato comune del marchio Banks che diventa Banks Sails Europe e viene creata una piccola rete di Franchising in Italia ed Europa. Negli anni dal 2006 ad oggi il marchio diventa una tecnologia esclusiva per "laminare" vele in carbonio a fibre curve.Nel 2006 viene installato a BARI l'impianto di produzione per le MEMBRANE da cui oggi escono pannelli per moltissime velerie in Europa ed alcune extra UE. Nel 2008 è eletto miglior Sail Designer (progettista di vele) in Italia.
Le MEMBRANE conquistano 6 titoli mondiali e diverse vittorie internazionale dal 2006 ad oggi.
Nel 2012, motivato dal mettere a frutto le innumerevoli consulenze prestate ai migliori cantieri Italiani, crea il marchio Neo Yachts & Composites.
